NBA Finals: League reportedly looking into fans who directed 'vulgar' taunts at Knicks star Jalen Brunson in Game 1

Following the New York Knicks’ 105-96 win over the San Antonio Spurs in Game 1 of the Finals on Wednesday, cameras captured a curious exchange between Knicks star Jalen Brunson and head official Scott Foster. While some thought maybe Brunson was still upset about a missed call earlier in the contest, it turns out something else irked Brunson at the end of the contest.

Brunson reportedly spoke to Foster about two fans who directed “vulgar, profane” flopping taunts in Brunson’s direction as the game was coming to a close, per Chris Haynes.

At one point while talking to Foster, it looks like Brunson is going to approach the crowd to possibly engage with the fans in question, but Foster moves over to get in Brunson’s way.

The NBA apparently took notice of Brunson’s complaints, and are reportedly looking into the situation, per Haynes. The Knicks played Game 1 in San Antonio on Wednesday, and will play there again in Game 2 on Friday. At that point, the series will shift back to New York for the next two games.
